The big attraction to WIGs are fuel efficiency and speed, but that's
on paper.

The real attraction is the fact that you're flying at low altitude on
a body of water or across land.  That fact is visceral.  Speed is good
too, but really the flying sensation is much more acute near the
ground than up high, and the speed sensation while cruising on a WIG
gives a very strong speed sensation too.

As I said before, the difference between the WIG guys and the
hovercraft guys is significant.  I don't think I'll ever make a full-
sized WIG unless it's primarily something else.  I can see the
attraction, I just don't think it's practical to use that much space
in my garage for something that can be used only a few days of the
year.

I may change my mind at some point, but so far, from what I've seen in
real life and on the net, a hover is much more practical than a WIG.
