We gotta meet face to face some day.  Preferably with a couple hovers
and a long weekend to chat.

I credit Nikola Tesla with dramatically altering the modern world,
more so than any other single human.  Three-phase AC is all his baby,
and we are just now starting to significantly improve on his designs.
Without the discoveries he made with respect to getting electricity
from A to B efficiently, and using it, our world would look hugely
different.

All the stuff he did after that I call party tricks.  That's not to
belittle what he did then, but rather to emphasize the im****tance of
the power systems.  Most of the Tesla nuts go off on the inventions
which nobody can actually describe the inner workings of, even though
he demonstrated them at the World's Fair.  Ya, a Tesla coil is really
cool and no sci-fi is complete without one.  Ya, it's neat that he
powered lamps that had no cords, and that he demonstrated the first
electron microscope without fully understanding what it was.

On the other hand, he also bombarded his brain with X-rays over long
periods of time.
