I have observed that among other things JimC embodies the worthwhile
attribute of being steadfast. He doesn't quit in the face of adversity and
he's learning, always learning. Single-handedly, he's managed to make
mincemeat out of each and every Mac26 basher in this group.
He evolves and applies what he's learned and his eyes are open, unlike
most
of the losers who attempt to deride his choice of sailboat. He's not cowed
by odds stacked against him and he goes about his business of increasing
the
odds in his favor by reducing those against him.
Jim will succeed when he decides to do some serious sailing. And, yes, he
will succeed in his Mac26 because he knows his boat perhaps better than
any
of you pretenders know yours. Jim will not be calling for a premature
Coast
Guard rescue because Jim is intelligent, willing to learn, able to
understand and so very willing to fight against hordes of ignorant
detractors.
JimC will eventually sell his Mac26 and purchase a more seaworthy vessel
but
Jim will always love and appreciate his mastery and the fact that it's not
about the boat. It's about knowing how to understand and use the boat as
just another tool. So Jim concentrates primarily on being an expert tool
user. This is what will assure his success. Jim won't be using a hammer
when
he knows he should be using a wrench. But Jim also knows he won't fully be
able to appreciate his present boat until he masters it. And master it he
shall because he understands it. Rest assured he will put it through it's
paces and will prevail against the elements.
Why do I believe this? It's because, unlike the bulk of you whining,
lubberly losers, Jim walks this world without blinders, earplugs, or
closed
mind.
