I did go there, and saw that the typical installation seemed to use 12hp
motors. How can this work if it takes 5 or more times that in Diesel?
As to our installation, it would require destroying the boat. I think
that
this might work only on bare-hull restorations or new building of boats.
However, we've moved on from the M46, and are considering looking at a
Hudson which has its engine removed already, so the thought occurred.
Has anyone here actually done an electric conversion (from an existing
diesel installation)? I'd love to hear about the process and the results.
