While I do not want to place blame on the young driver of one of the boats
in this accident, I think that needs to be left up to the investigating
body
who know the facts, rather than others who have only heard possible facts.
However, in general, the accident may finally bring about a review of the
general incompetancy we have all witnssed from power boat drivers from
time
to time.
I am not saying all power boat drivers are incompetent, but how many times
have we been sailing along, or sitting at anchor, and witness a power boat
driver doing something stupid?
Perhaps this sort od accident, sadly, may make the authroities sit up and
take notice.
To coin an old phrase, it takes a death before someone does something.
Trouble is it is usually a kneejerk over reaction, fueld by bad
publicity,and we all suffer because of it.
