Does this thread inspire some memories. I sailed my RL24 through the
tail of Cyclone Joy in late Dec1990. Fortunately where we were coming
into the Keppels it was only blowing 55 knots with just a storm jib up
on ****t tack. Tacked onto starboard to enter Great Keppel harbour and
the mast came down with a broken cap shroud. The inner shroud tore a
hole in the deck and for the next 3 days let in buckets of water in
the constant downpour. Had no trouble identifying the leak, but no way
of stopping it.
