cobra cat setup?

by imagineero <imagineero@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 20, 2008 at 03:28 AM

Looking for some info on the setup of my cobra cat... got all my
supplies from whitworths finally, but from the way the boat is setup,
it looks like it has been done wrong. The main sheet has two separate
single block pulleys fixed to the boom, a double block, and a single
ratcheting block. There are a couple 2 potential points to hook up on
the cat itself; a ring forward of the rear beam by about a foot, and
the traveller car. There is a cleat on a swivel with a fairlead which
looks as though it ought to be hooked up to the traveller, or ....?
To make things more interesting, the traveller track is full width and
has a block at each end. The traveller itself also has a pulley on
either side (ok, 2:1 here...) but then, about 1/4 of the way in from
the end of the traveller track is a clam cleat, wih each one facing
the opposite of the way you would think (the rope must come from
inboard to jam, not from the blocks)

I know this is a pretty crappy description, I can take some pics and
post them online. Was hoping someone might have some pics of a
similar setup? I have google the last week or so, no luck to date.

Thanks,
Shaun
