hi all,
well, it's a saturday night and here i am drinking mid strength beer
and looking through ebay again. I really need to get out of mount
isa! Here's this weeks gem;
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/YACHT-KETCH-44FT-FIBERGLASS-TWIN-MASTED_W0QQitemZ160229175882QQihZ006QQcategoryZ158340QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and also, an online gallery of the real damage here;

All i can say is; holy crap!
Looking at the damage in the pictures on the website, it's hard to
believe that something like this can be redeemed at all, no matter how
much time and effort is put into it. Also hard to think that the
owner will get the sale price, I would have thought maybe 5k for the
rigging etc? there's not a lot of usable stuff left on this boat.
The most frightening thing is how quickly a boat can deteriorate to
this condition... it doesnt take long to go from a good boat in
reasonable condition to an absolutel absket case. Im guessing that if
you left something like this at anchor with nobody to look after it,
it may end up like this in 3-6 months if it had a few bad storms and a
little bit of damage.
Any comments? Is a 'solid glass' boat like this likely to end up with
some sort of rot in the hulls?
