The coverage maps on verizon.com showed nothing above the border - why 
am I surprised! ;)  Maybe you could contact the people you pay for 
your service and ask them if they serve the area. Many marinas have 
wireless Internet now, -maybe someone has compiled a list (googling 
'Lake Ontario wireless Internet marinas' got lots of links).
