Roll dampers

by Gualtier Malde <valacapt@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM

We have a 34' CHB trawler which is vulnerable to waves and wakes when at
anchor.
For some time we have used Davis "rocker stoppers", 4 to a side, with
good
results. Once we were less that 200 yards from a BC Ferry route (from
Schwartz
Bay) and rocked like crazy until we got them down and then all was
peaceful.

At an auction over the weekend we picked up two devices which have 4 flaps
in a
square tray. They are on 14' of line, and the louvers allow water to go
up, but
not down. I would like to know more about them.

Has anyone any experience with them? I don't see a name on the units.

Thanks - Chuck
