The good thing about newsgroups back in the day, was that it didn't
require a constant or fast online connection. You could batch
download headers, flag them for body download offline, and then
download the bodies, read and reply off line. In the days of 300 baud
connections this was great. There was also a software some BBSs with
newsgroup access would use that would zip (or PKARC back then), the
bodies and send it via zmodem - great stuff.
