I can't think of any boat owner I know who doesn't find coordinating
crew a time consuming and painful exercise. Spreadsheets, forms, scraps
of paper, endless telephone calls and all this while trying to hold
down a job and enjoy the other part of your life, ashore!
Trying to coordinate a crew for any boat is the perennial problem for
owners and skippers and has lead to many owners downsizing to smaller
yachts just for an easier life. (No doubt, some were also keen to
experience the excitement of sailing the multitude of s****tsboats and
keelboats that have gained in popularity over the last few years).
Whatever the size of your boat though, managing crew throughout the
season is a headache that can detract from the pleasure of getting out
on the water...
So we've taken a first stab at creating a solution to this problem.
Broadband internet connectivity is no longer a luxury, in fact in many
countries now it is a commodity taken for granted much like electricity
and water supplies direct to your home. In the UK now, nearly every
marina is offering wireless internet access.
SailingNetworks Groups offer an easy to use, web based tool for
managing your sailing related activities.
>From winter maintenance to weekend pottering, Spring Series round the
cans to Offshore racing and trans-ocean passage making, *Groups* can
help you organise your boat, crew, events and job lists easily,
centrally and securely.
* Create a Group
* Add/invite crew members or participants
* Select Events from our comprehensive calendar or create private

create To Do lists, share photos and email the group in one hit. Then
you can manage your crew list and let group members update their own
availability.
We are looking for racing sailors to try out this service for free and
