The trouble is, Wilbur, that our Further Education cl***** only cover
Flower
Arranging and Embroidery, so navigation is a dark art as far as most of us
are concerned.
Wouldn't it be lovely to live in a country such as yours, where navigation
is a compulsory subject, even in kindergarten.
In a former life however, I seem to recall rhymes such as "variation west
-
compass best", "variation east - compass least". Must be some sort of
psychic phenomenon.
It's true, Columbus was a randy Italian sailor who was knocking off the
Spanish Queen at the time. Things don't change much in the sailing world
do
they?
