Sorry, but sailing has NOTHING to do with motoring. A real sailboat has no
motor.
This group is not named uk.rec.motorsailing. And, even if one were to
agree
with you, why the endless discussion? The simple known facts are to stop
the
shaft and prop from turning and do it so the prop is faired by the
deadwood
in the cutout in a full keeled boat or if you have a fin keel then it
doesn't matter if you fold, feather or whatever, you have unacceptable
drag.
The ONLY acceptable alternative is an outboard motor on the transom that
can
be tilted up completely free of the water.
But, since this is a sailing newsgroup discussing the above is really off
topic because sailing is done with sails and NO motor. Get it? I realize
that's a difficult concept to grasp but give it a try, please.
